Graduated from the École des Hautes Études Commerciales of the University of Montreal, Jean-Michel Stam began his career in the local economic development and university sectors.  

He then joined MDF Commerce (formerly Mediagrif), where he spent a significant part of his professional career.  For twenty years, he has been responsible for several areas of activities, such as sales, operations and business unit management. More recently, he headed E-marketplaces, where he was in charge of six business lines.  

As Chief Operating Officer of Berger-Levrault Canada, his main missions are to:  

  • Increase Berger-Levrault’s sales and revenues in North America, in connection with the Group’s Sales Department.    
  • Ensure and foster the employees’ well-being and sense of belonging.    
  • Guarantee the deployment of the Group’s policies.    
  • Promote the Berger-Levrault Group’s activities in Canada and help the company and its brands to become more widely known.

Now as a member of Berger-Levrault’s Executive Committee, Jean-Michel Stam coordinates relationships with the Group and its various departments in order to favor shared competencies and the cross-functional approach that is essential to meeting his objectives.
